The exam format will be similar to that of Exam 1.

When constructing the test, I will look for 
* words in bold: both the author and I tend to think that those are 
  important to understand
* figures: you don't have to memorize complicated figures, but you 
  should understand the ideas
* understanding of general ideas: I'm not interested in having you
  go on a memorization binge, but you should be able to explain
  important ideas and provide enough evidence that I can be
  confident that you do understand the idea.
