Mr. Yosef Teklewold
Hi! My name is Yosef Teklewold, and I am the Admissions Counselor for International Students and students studying Applied Sciences. I’ve had two years of recruiting experience at Ball State University prior to joining the Taylor Admissions team in fall of ’17. During my time in admissions, I have interacted with a wide range of students, including international students and students who are the first in their families to attend Graduate school.
I grew up in a small village in Southern Ethiopia, where I learned to appreciate all that a small and vibrant community has to offer. I believe that Taylor excels in creating an atmosphere where students can connect with faculty, students, staff, alumni, and experiences. Taylor University is a small college where you can have personalized attention and close relationships and will be remembered—by name—but big enough to have amazing resources and distinguished faculty. As an alumnus, I am very proud of the impact Taylor has beyond Indiana and US. I also love sharing the story of Taylor’s towel and what it means for us as a Christ-centered institution.
I am a first-generation college student (Taylor graduate of ’14) and have found a passion in challenging young students across the world in finding academic and professional passions, and opening their eyes to opportunities that a small town like Upland has to offer toward education. As I continue with this journey, I hope to help students and families learn how Taylor can become their home and have a life-long impact on their lives.
