Mr. Tim Lehrian

Computer Resource Manager

When I was a little kid, I told my dad I wanted to be an architect just like him. We would go into business together and call it “Lehrian & Father.” Only I didn’t pursue architecture. I did math instead.

My goal was not to work in IT as a career. Then IWU’s IT Dept snagged me shortly after graduation. That launched me into an IT career path that eventually resulted in working as a sysadmin. In 2008, I started working for my local church (Hanfield UMC) as the Communication Director, which didn’t involve much IT, but developed more creative skills such as photography, graphic design, and writing/editing. That was my last position before joining Taylor in January 2017.

I haven’t done much IT work for the past 8 years, but I’m having fun relearning some of the things I used to do as a sysadmin in previous jobs. Some of the tools have changed, but the basic ideas are the same.

I enjoy music and photography. I have played the piano since I was 12 years old, and I play the piano (and occasionally drums) for the praise team at Hanfield. I also enjoy hanging out with my kids, watching them play sports, and traveling.

My wife Renee currently a Nursing professor at IWU. We have been married for almost 25 years and have two boys: Collin (18) and Ian (11). Collin is coming to Taylor in the Fall of 2017 and plans to major in Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering. Ian is in 5th grade at Eastbrook South and loves Pokemon.

I’m excited to be a part of the Taylor CSE team and help in any way I can to support the CSE and PHY/ENG students.

Favorite Verse: “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.” Romans 12:1 (The Message)
