Wildlife We Experienced

From Ken and Sandy's house we enjoyed the sounds of many interesting bird calls. Many were not identified, but we did see hummingbirds and a few other colorful birds.

On the drive back from Altun Ha, Ken spotted some Toucans. We stopped and were able to see four of the brightly colored birds through our binoculars. Seeing the Toucans in the wild made me really feel like I was truly in a Belizean Rainforest!

Each evening as we sat down for dinner we watched as the gecko's chased insects on the outside of the screen windows. Occasionally they joined us inside.

On the trip home from Caye Caulker we saw playful dolphin swimming alongside our boat.

As we were driving through the countryside one day we saw a man carrying an Iguana.

Ken did a little target practice with his slingshot on the rats in the lot next door to their house.

Judy is quite thankful that during the trip she only saw one nasty spider and no snakes!!!
