We’re so excited to have you check out Taylor University’s Computer Science and Engineering Department (our website, at least!). We’d like to share with you more about our department. If you can’t find what you’re looking for please don’t hesitate to contact us using any of the methods in the box to the right.

Here at Taylor University, the Computer Science and Engineering Department is more than just a section of the science building. We have our own community on the second floor of the beautiful new Euler Science Complex that flourishes as both a learning environment and a collection of driven students and friends.
In our old Nussbaum science building we used to be located in the basement affectionately known as “The Dungeon”, due to its lack of windows. But now our thriving community has moved into the new state-of-the-art Euler Complex, where it remains a great place to learn, as well as a friendly and supportive Christian environment where students form close relationships with both peers and professors. Additionally, many Taylor CS&E students can attest to the fact that not only do you learn a lot while you’re here, but you also have a lot of fun doing it. We would love for you to come check us out and maybe even join us!
I picked Taylor’s CSE department because of the hands on experience, small class sizes, and the wonderful professors

The community in Euler offers an interesting, dynamic, and enjoyable community of people—from Computer Science majors to Computer Graphic Arts majors to Computer Engineering majors. Professors are readily available to help with homework or to spend time socializing with students and other faculty and staff members.
Honestly, it was the community and the friendliness of the professors that captured my attention. I had been planning on attending University of Illinois (#4 school in the nation for my major) but I realized that college was more than an education and Taylor was the place that would give me that.

The beautiful new project lab offers an excellent place for students to come and work with each other. Complete with a multitude of whiteboards and a lounge area for for those long brainstorming sessions, not to mention the state-of-the-art computers, the project lab is a wonderful workspace. Additionally, there are also several other wonderful labs for students to work in. But state-of-the-art labs and computers don’t push the limits of computer science by themselves–that’s where you come in!
I chose to study software development at Taylor University because of their ability to prepare students to do work outside of the “Taylor Bubble.” In software studio, we don’t have throw away code; we develop actual projects for actual clients
–Paul Nurkkala
The Taylor Computer Science and Engineering department isn’t all about work, however, we also know how to have fun! Activities take place that include auctions, analog (board) game nights, and movie nights–just to name a few. Students will also take on fun extracurricular projects, such as campus-wide laser tag. We’d love for you to come check us out! You can request more info, and continue browsing our site to find out more!
